Golf Tournament/Fundraiser - Thank You

Golf Tournament/Fundraiser

I want to thank everyone that helped, sponsored, or participated in our Golf Tournament/Fundraiser this past Saturday.  I had a great time watching everyone try to avoid the water on hole 6.  There were some amazing shots and then there were some not so hot ones.  Some of the bad shots did avoid the water, but unfortunately they also only traveled a few inches from the tee box.

I still believe the saying holds true "a bad day of golf is better than a good day at work" especially when there is pigs feet/ox tail soup at the end of the day.  Hope you all enjoyed the day, food, prizes, and fellowship.

I want to say a special congratulations to Tom Shigemoto for his first ever HOLE-IN-ONE on the 16th hole par 3!

Upcoming Events
Stay tuned, we will be holding a sign waving event in the near future, but the date is not yet set.  This will be an ideal time to get your Arryl Kaneshiro shirts, signs, and banners.

Sincerely,

Arryl Kaneshiro

Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kaneshiro Files for Re-election
LIHUʻE, Hawaiʻi, May 31, 2018 – Alongside his family and friends, Councilmember Arryl Kaneshiro filed to enter the Kauaʻi County Council race today.

“I want to thank the residents of Kauaʻi and Niʻihau for allowing me to serve you on the County Council. I am humbled by the privilege to serve all of you for these past 4 years,” said Kaneshiro.  “I strive to bring homegrown values to the County Council decision making process.”

Kaneshiro was first elected to serve as a councilmember in 2014. During his tenure, Kaneshiro’s fellow Councilmembers have entrusted him as Chair of the Council’s all-important Budget and Finance Committee, reflecting his strong background in fiscal operations and management. Every year as Chairman of the Finance Committee, his Committee has continuously passed a balanced County budget, funded a healthy fiscal reserve, and maintained a strong bond rating saving County taxpayers on municipal debt costs.

Under Kaneshiro’s leadership, the policy of keeping a healthy financial reserve was done specifically to provide fiscal resilience and flexibility during times of emergency or disaster. Fortunately, this reserve was available for the County to fund disaster responses to our recent historic flooding catastrophe.

Furthermore, Kaneshiro has worked toward developing better long-term financial planning goals through policy adoption and transparent benchmarks. “This island has taught me that respecting those around you, caring about others before one’s self, and putting in the necessary work, truly is a marker for success,” he added.

If re-elected, Kaneshiro will continue prioritizing a balanced solutions-based approach toward governance and focus on creating more housing, protecting and promoting agriculture, increasing job opportunities, and maintaining a healthy and balanced budget.

“People ask why I think I’m a worthy Council candidate. I maintain that it’s not for any special reason. I represent the regular, everyday Kauaʻi residents who works hard to make the best life for their family because I am a regular, everyday Kauaʻi resident,” Kaneshiro said.

Kaneshiro is a 4th-generation Kauaian who enjoys spending his time working with his dad on their family’s sheep ranch in Omaʻo. He is a graduate of Kauaʻi High School and Pacific University and is a certified public accountant. He currently works at Grove Farm Company as a project manager. Prior to joining Grove Farm he worked in Portland, Oregon as a senior accountant in the private sector.

“I am eternally grateful to my wife, my family, and my friends who make daily sacrifices and continue to support my desire for public service,” said Kaneshiro. “I would be honored to serve another term and hope my fellow residents believe that my record warrants it.“

Filed for Re-Election!
Filed for Re-Election!

Hi Family & Friends,

I'm excited to announce that I filed for re-election to the Kauai County Council. I am humbled by the support and encouragement that you have shown me.

Below is a copy of my press release provided to the Garden Island.

Sincerely,

Arryl Kaneshiro
Kaneshiro For Council

Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kaneshiro Files for Re-election

LIHUʻE, Hawaiʻi, May 16, 2016 – Alongside family and friends, Councilmember Arryl Kaneshiro filed to enter the Kauaʻi County Council race today. Kaneshiro was first elected to serve as a councilmember in 2014.

“I want to thank the residents of Kauaʻi and Niʻihau for allowing me to serve you on the County Council. I am humbled by the privilege to serve as a Council member this past year and a half,” said Kaneshiro.  “I will continue to bring homegrown values in the decisions I make to maintain the local way of life that we all cherish.”

Although Kaneshiro is a first-term councilmember, his peers entrusted him as chair of the Council’s all-important Budget and Finance Committee, reflecting his strong background in fiscal operations and management.

Under his leadership, this committee has twice passed balanced County budgets and did not increase real property tax rates for local residents. Furthermore, he has worked toward developing better long-term financial planning goals through potential policy adoption and transparent benchmarks.

“People have asked why I think I’m a worthy Council candidate. It’s not for any special reason. I believe I can represent the regular, everyday Kauaʻi resident who works hard to make the best life for their family because I am a regular, everyday Kauaʻi resident,” Kaneshiro said. “I understand the ins and outs of daily life here, and I want to help make it better for all of us.”

“I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my family and friends who continue to support my desire to serve the public,” said Kaneshiro. “I would be honored to serve again and hope my fellow residents believe that my record warrants a second term.“

Thank You!

Thank You Kauai & Niihau!

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the voters of Kauai and Niihau.  I am extremely humbled by the results of the general election and grateful for the tremendous amount of support.  I especially want to thank Gwyn, my family, my campaign team, and my friends and colleagues that dedicated their time and energy to this campaign.  I could not have asked for a better or more committed group.

I also want to commend all of the candidates that ran this political season.  We all experienced the stress and courage of running a campaign.

It is a relief that the election is over and I am looking forward to the work ahead and serving the island.

Yard Signs & Banners
I am humbled and appreciative to everyone that put up a yard sign and banner.  It truly means a lot to me that you were so willing to show your support.  Now that the election is over, we will be actively collecting them for storage.  Please contact me for pick up or you can drop them off at Kauai Foreign Cars or the Grove Farm office.

Sincerely,
Arryl
